Overall I really enjoy working at Barracuda. Almost every week, I recommend our company to my friends. The only issues I have are financial ones. The budget doesn't allow for good raises, hiring new people or getting proper hardware. I am hopeful this will improve as soon as the market allows it.
It's a great experience to work at this company. We have our flaws, and as mentioned, the pay isn't the best. On the other hand, work is never boring, rarely stressful and we have a very pleasant working atmosphere.
The people I work with and the variety of different features I'm able to work on.
Working at Barracuda is fun. The job is great and we have a lot of freedom in what we do.
New challenges almost every week, without it being too stressful. It's never boring, and there's always new stuff to learn.
Whenever you have any question, my team is super quick to respond and help you. It truly feels like you can always rely on them to solve problems together.
As mentioned earlier, you can talk to almost anyone about anything. It truly feels like we are all part of a bigger team, rather than just a steep hierarchy. Keep it up!
My Team. I know this sounds like a joke, but I enjoy almost every moment with them. Of course there are tough time too, but overall it's a really pleasant and productive environment.
Everyone is very engaged in their work and tries their best to accomplish successful releases over and over, even though we are severely limited in our budget. Of course, everyone is fun to work with as well!
Despite the company hierarchy being quite steep in theory, it still feels like you can talk to any of your colleagues about almost anything and have fun. The overall atmosphere is very relaxed and that's a great thing!
Achieving our goals together, and with a rapid pace at that. We are very well structured and organized. This way I can see progress basically every day and will never run out of work, and that's a positive thing!
We are allowed to adopt our own work culture depending on the country we work at. This may sound like a weird thing to say, but I think it's very important to just let people do their work the way they're used to, given they are productive.
I'm being told by my manager that I'm doing an amazing job. However, due to inflation I'm earning less and not more every year. In addition, our team does not get new urgently needed hires and hardware even though we are pushing one of the "flagship" projects of the company.
We are getting only the bare minimum of raises, which is often not even enough to entirely compensate for inflation. Despite the fact I'm told I'm one of the top performers, my salary raises were only good enough to off-set inflation. And I'm one of the lucky ones who actually got a proper raise.
Work at Barracuda is great, fun and I continue to recommend our company to other people. That being said, compensation is on the lower side in comparison to other companies. It's fine, but it could be better. In addition, we had a long dry run looking at hiring new people and getting new equipment.
