The hostile environment encouraged by management makes it difficult to have meaningful or positive working relationships with coworkers.
A living wage would have been nice. Management trying to actually establish a healthy working relationship, and encouraging cooperation instead of hostile competition would be another.
The store manager forced employees to dance to her favorite song at the morning huddle. It was painful and uncomfortable. Morning huddles were consistently forced, ineffectual, and awkward. This in indicative of the environment as a whole.
There was little to no communication. Extra work without adequate compensation. Management actively encouraged hostile competition in departments that operated under commission as it "Made the employees work harder" then yelled at the department for not working together well enough.
