Optum could be a great place to work, but senior management here can't get out of its own way. All of the talented Senior-level staff either gets promoted into management or gets tired of the lack of support and direction and leaves.

Everything. It's unclear what their strategic direction is, if there is one, and they say the exact same thing at every Town Hall: "you guys need to get it together, because competition is coming." They're like a boring Ned Stark.

Our senior management doesn't seem to know the difference between activity and progress. For example, they have over invested in brick and mortar offices at the expense of employee bonuses and rentention, and then compounded the problem by pretending it's a strategy.
