What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Everything. It's unclear what their strategic direction is, if there is one, and they say the exact same thing at every Town Hall: "you guys need to get it together, because competition is coming." They're like a boring Ned Stark.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Being paid more in general as a baseline... but when I get an RRP bonus that is heavily taxed and only a 3% raise salary raise, along with a year with ~8.6% inflation: I got demoted and took a ~6% pay decrease, on top of already being underpaid.

Through data analysis of other engineers salaries, there is a large disparity between what I contribute with a vast skill set and my pay verses skills and pay of others...

I am on a new team now, and they are all top notch! Patience, friendly, collaborative, and highly skilled.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Once you get in, there is tons of opportunities to pursue openly with the company. My coworkers and supervisor always push me to do whats best for all our career advancements.

I work for Optum mostly because I can work from home with talented colleagues. If they stopped allowing telecommuting I would leave.

They didn't rely very heavily on the interview process, which is easy to fake. Instead, they considered body of work, experience, and mutual acquaintances.

The willingness to hear all viewpoints. One good idea and your on your way. We all do see to share tech passion which is nice.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Our senior management doesn't seem to know the difference between activity and progress. For example, they have over invested in brick and mortar offices at the expense of employee bonuses and rentention, and then compounded the problem by pretending it's a strategy.
