UT Health San Antonio – I loved working at UT when I was hired in 2019 and was hopeful that I found the organization I would grow and potentially retire with. But now the culture is toxic and everything I loved about UT is gone and I'm actively seeking ways to move on from the organization as soon as possible. | Comparably

Significantly better compensation lining up with industry standards (I can make 35% more working at Christus in the same position). Overall a major culture shift from leadership showing respect, support, clear communication, and realistic expectations. Hire more staff ASAP.

Clear communication, implement achievable goals and set realistic timelines, listen to employee concerns and take appropriate action, respect the employees that have chosen to stick it out at UT during this rough patch, make priorities clear (everything always feels like an emergency).

My coworkers are overall great people, but everyone is so burnt out and bitter about being undervalued that no one enjoys working together anymore. We spend time together outside of work,, and it is great, but we are all different, unhappy people in the workplace. The UT culture has worn us down.

There is not much positivity in the culture right now. Every day I wonder if it will be the day I can't take it anymore and quit. UT has created a culture of letting providers and leadership have their way at the cost of others mental health at work. Every day is a new unnecessary fight.

I feel very undervalued. There is no respect or support from leadership and they are going about future plans like we are not working with a skeleton crew barely getting by. Someone on my team is leaving UT to go to Christus making $30k more a year for the same position, so I'd like that pay.
