Honestly, everyone at my store started quitting because of how badly we the workers were treated. I don't see it getting better unless management buckles down and listens to the workers, promotes from within, and works hard to show employees that they and their well-being are valued.
Communication and understanding. The worst part of dealing with managers was that half of them didn't know whst they or their team members were doing. I once had a store manager who was closing who was never taught how to close. Not a floor manager. The store manager.
I was cross-trained in multiple parts of the store, and I was a Halloween Lead one year. My managers ignored my requests for help, treated me poorly, and often times I found myself running the front end with another seasoned co-worker. My compensation? One pin saying "I did a good job this week."
