When initially entering the company the Alkami culture was very positive. That has slowly been chipped away with budget cuts and more and more trying to be done with less. I understand the need to get within budget, but our customer experience and Alkamist experience is suffering badly.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
Before the last year I enjoyed my time at Alkami and would recommend this company to anyone with the needed skills. The constant stress of being understaffed has burned me out on Alkami entirely. I miss the old Alkami.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
The executives need to reflect the company culture.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Willingness to help each other.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Providing budget and resources so the employees can do their job effectively.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The salary at Alkami is not competitive with the industry. The Benefits are especially weaker than other industries.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The Alkamists still care about the quality of our product and try to live up to the ideals we've set out.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
We desperately need more staff. Every team is understaffed. Every team is being stretched to the limit. Alkami is no longer a place I would recommend people to work at.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The current understaffing means regular overtime is required to get the bare minimum requirements for my job done. I would accept a job at a different company for a pay cut at this point.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
The understaffing has left everyone extremely stressed. The Alkami attitude of helping each other has eroded as everyone feels they do not have the free time to help other Alkamists. Coworker relationships are suffering as a result.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We're understaffed and overworked. This is not an issue that can wait 6 months for additional hiring or AI to magically fix this. Morale is suffering. Burnout is happening. Customer relations are suffering. I have very little faith in Alkami's future because of this understaffing.

Our reputation with clients is very poor. Our apps are reviewed poorly. Developers don't have the resources or time to fix issues. Alkamists are trying to support too many clients. We are told to "run lean" but we're running so lean we can't give the client quality.
