What I appreciate most about the leadership team is the trust they place in my ability to perform my role. I also value their transparency on key matters, such as the information shared in the recurring newsletters and All Hands.

The benefits are so so. Most Alkamists I know who have spouses who work get their health coverage through their spouse, as it's usually better quality and not as expensive. It's a real miss that Alkami leadership thinks they are doing great on this, and its something that should be addressed soon.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Being paid at market value - a living wage for my area, even.

Some individuals are able to be promoted, whereas others are not, and there are not always clear paths upward. However, managers do care about employees and work is still valued.

Alkami is fair in compensation. We use a nationally-recognized salary survey to ensure that people are being paid fairly, and we have a lot of opportunity for growth.

I feel valued as an employee, and oftentimes empowered. Most leadership does a fantastic job of investing in their teammates, and if there's ever an instance where that is not the case, it's usually an individual instance and not the fault of the company as a whole.

Our HR and my specific TR team is wonderfully collaborative, creative, and always supportive of one another. We are great at solving complex problems together and bringing great ideas to life.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Most Alkamists are reall good people, and a pleasure to work with. That's what makes it jarring when occasionally running into people who don't have that team mindset. Ensuring we are hiring people who are a good fit for the culture would be a great step to take.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
More focus on remote culture, less effort put towards trying to improve an onsite culture that no longer exists.

The work is fast-paced, which means a huge focus on results first. While this is important, long hours + fast pace = burnout. When managers work 10+ hours either the employees do the same, or they are seen as not carrying their load. Managers should lead by example by working normal hours.

What makes me happiest at work is serving as a resource for our Alkamists. I truly enjoy educating our employees on our benefit plan offerings and supporting them when they need time off for a leave of absence.
