Columbia Hospitality Claimed Company
OUR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT IS ALIVE AND WELL We'll try just about anything once. This entrepreneurial spirit is how Columbia Hospitality got its start. As a trusted partner of the Port of Seattle, having planned and executed many events for them, they asked Columbia CEO and Founder, John Oppenheimer, if he knew anyone who would be a good operator for the soon-to-be-built Bell Harbor International Conference Center. Having no management experience, naturally, John said, “Yes, US!” When asked why, his response was, “Because we’ve never done it before, but no one knows what your clients want better than us!” We got the job, and we still have that job decades later. read more

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The opportunitys it will present along with familiar faces makes my day enjoyable.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The culture and enviroments is rich throughout the company, shown with large open glass windows and diversity of the crew.

What makes you most happy at work?

The environment around me. How people are speaking to me and whats going on. Anything can make me happy.

What are some of the best things about your team?

I work with very familiar faces, the best thing about my team is I already know they are kind, hardworking people. They get things done when needed at a timely manner.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I don't necessarily feel undervalued, however in this economy the highest "compensation" to ever make me or people feel good is money. I would like to afford regular things such as a car and a house, to not be able to does make me feel undervalued. Maybe not by columbia hospitality but in society.
