I like that everyone is always just trying to make the experience better for guests. I love that there is always a lean towards positivity and productivity without the inclination to dwell on mishaps because mishaps can happen, miscommunication can happen but a positive and corrective attitude wins.

Communication for one I was laid off after 2months despite being told the property was staying open during the renovation and was given 17days to find a new job. With no guarantee of a position once it's reopened that's a terrible way to treat your employees

The price match 401k. I've only been with chi for 4 years or so but I already have 34k in my 401k.

I think the hourly pay is very competitive, especially in the town that we live in. I wish there was some way that part-time employees were offered health benefits and more in the sense that just because we are part-time employees, doesn't mean we aren't extremely invested in the company as well.

I worked 3-4 positions and was paid for 1 at 15hr considering I was running the front desk, cleaning and inspecting rooms, laundry, and grounds 17-18hr would have been appropriate

The most positive thing about the culture and environment at the company is everyone is very welcoming, non-judgemental. It's about putting personal issues and feelings at the door and just focusing on work and how to make it the best hospitality environment for our guests as possible.

Promote based on work ethic not personal relationships. Schedule based off work ethic and ability to complete tasks not based off personal relationships. Communicate early and effectively and preciesly. Pay more!

My absolute favorite thing is interacting with friendly guests and their cute dogs, I'm a huge animal lover and advocate so the fact that it is a dog-friendly hotel makes the ambiance and experience for us working there and guests staying there feel just that much more special than other places.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Manager is negligent and rude to staff. There is no consistency to the scheduling or assigned duties. The only fix is to start over with a new manager and structure
