Working at DG has been one of the worst experiences of my life. The hours they give you arw terrible and because of that your forced to manager an entire store, stock items, AND check out customers at the SAME TIME for a good 6hrs a day (if your even lucky to get any hrs that week) for a shit pay.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Our pay, more store hours, some acknowledgment for doing good things, bonuses for managers, better acknowledgment of managers, some cameras that actually work, less truck loads, more opportunities for help to come do stocking events at stores to help push stock out, and much.. MUCH more
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Theyll tell you you deserve a raise for months just to never give it to you. Managers are overworked on purpose and then will laugh in your face when you ask for a little bonus. You can have your store as #1 in the district for MONTHS and nobody will say anything except for negative remarks.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
My manager is such a nice woman, I hate how overwhelmed she is and she basically lives at the store. It is terrible to see how tired she is every time she comes in, just to keep working at such a terrible place. As managers, theyll overwork you on purpose since your salary. Overworked and no bonuses
