
Frequent meetings, video calls, group texts, and endless emails fail to reflect the companies stated goal of providing realistic work life balance. Additional resources and more realistic workload expectations would go a long way toward helping me to feel better about my compensation.
The company has moved to generalized leadership roles that require a broader understanding of our business for coworkers to be effective and work better together. Unfortunately, we have eliminated many of the support positions that helped with training and developing new and mid level leaders.
The most positive thing about the culture at Macy's is that shared stress regarding workload and the focus on so many metrics is that miserable people pull together. Understanding how challenging leadership roles can be, helps create a very empathic environment where peers support each other.
