What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Stop looking out for yourselves and be leaders. The department VPs are scared to death of offending the CEO (and his wife). Stop working your staffs to death to earn your 10% per quarter bonuses.

Learning that people aren't robots. The employees are underpaid and over-worked. The state of the company is always chaos, leaving employees feeling stressed. Finger pointing and blaming is a daily occurrence.

Hire people who have experience and follow procedures sent in place. Have the CEO and Senior Director of business step away and allow the people they hired to do their jobs. Cut out favoritisms and actually aim to provide the costumer with what they are asking for.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The department heads earn 10% per quarter (40% per year bonuses) working their staffs to the brink of death! The turnover this year is over 60% because of these practices. And management thinks a 0.75% quarterly bonus is motivating. What a joke!!!

Being compensated for working overtime. Easily put in 10-20 hours per week of overtime that is uncompensated.

Employees are forced to work long after the hours stated in their contracts with no compensation or appreciation for the extra time they put in. Upper management does not know how manage the number of projects with the available work force, and overwork their staff.

Be more involved in fixing problems rather than pointing out who is responsible. Do more that beyond the job title.

My co-workers need to be better trained. No one is ever trained. People are thrown into roles that they are either not qualified for or do not know how to do. My favorite is when they have me do odd jobs in work clothes. Might as well paint a gravel driveway...this place is a dump.

The owners need to retire or sell the company. They are easily the most corrupt and unethical people it has ever been my displeasure to meet.

A standard bank of questions and a formal evaluation/grading form completed by the interviewer. BSM hires anyone with a pulse because the company's turnover is so high. They just need bodies.

Recruit, interview, hire, and keep competent people. It's not complicated, but they don't care. Everyone can be replaced.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Quality is a joke. The system's aren't followed and that's the culture of operations. When something goes wrong it's always someone else's fault. To improve, stop blaming and start focusing on quality.
