Ego gets in the way of progress. There is a complete lack of trust. Bureaucracy reigns

The leadership team lacks vision. They do not communicate where they want the company to go, but then shoot the messenger when execution fails.
Review from Engineering Dept
Focusing on quality instead of quantity and growth

Acknowledge weak areas and places that we all need to improve. Ask for critiques from your employees/team and be willing to openly lead rather than keeping everything in the dark.

The medical benefits are comprehensive and pay well. It's a lot better than a place with a high deductible plan.
Review from Engineering Dept
We do not have a 401K match, which is a huge detractor from our compensation. We also do not have any paid parental leave policy, despite efforts from employees to promote this.
Review from Engineering Dept
Base salary is well below market median, benefits including 401k match is weak.
Review from Engineering Dept
Everyone is collaborative and oriented toward making the product better. People are relaxed and easy going.
Review from Engineering Dept
No one takes ownership in meetings. No one is a decider. There are so many artificial silos that do the company no justice. It makes it impossible to collaborate cross functionally.

My coworkers are actually pretty great - that's the reason why I've stayed here for so long. They're generally pleasant and nice people

Become more effective planners to approach tasks and situations analytically.

Calabrio prides itself on being one of the top workplaces in the Twin Cities, as listed in the Star Tribune ranking. They do a lot to keep employees happy.
Review from Engineering Dept
Leaders need to lead and be inspiring.

Change in perspective - currently the company still operates as though things like firings need to happen in the dark (people getting fired during company happy hours without notice, for example) and training for mid-level management.
Review from Engineering Dept
Forget the "start up" mindset. Everytime something goes wrong, take ownership and use that experience to improve.

The technical questions were challenging, but my interviewers gave hints and collaborated with me to help find the solution.

Being able to work on a product that made work easier for the end users of the workforce management suite.
Review from Engineering Dept
Calabrio's culture is based on blame rather than continuous improvement, especially outside of the engineering department.
Review from Engineering Dept
Honestly, some of the mid-level managers are truly incompetent and need to be removed from their positions. More than 20% turnover in one group in less than a year usually suggests a problem with the manager, not the people.
Review from Engineering Dept
Too much focus on growth and not enough focus on quality and improving effectiveness for customers and employees
Review from Engineering Dept
There are some genuinely nice people, but nice and highly competent are not the same
Review from Engineering Dept
The way they treat their employees.
Review from Engineering Dept
Vision is completely lacking and communication is worse

Integrating the TeleOpti software into the existing Calabrio WFM solution will be quite a challenge. It will take the efforts of all the engineers who are knowledgeable about the current product.
