Code.org Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

I'm pretty new but had the best onboarding experience to date. Everyone was super welcoming, took time to meet me, and made me feel like they were excited to have me. Despite being small, things were clear and organized from HR to my team to the whole company. I wasn't left to fend for myself.

We celebrate wins and accomplishments, and acknowledge mistakes without recrimination.

The transparency and openness of the culture is unlike I've ever seen. People like to help each other out and are allowed to make mistakes

Review from Product Dept

Transparency and openness to feedback. We have core values that we actually believe in and act on.

Review from Product Dept

Everyone is excited to be here, working towards the same mission. There is no competition within our org.

Review from Operations Dept

Lack of ego, top to bottom

Review from Admin Dept

We are mission-driven, so everybody comes to work knowing that each day we work, we're helping change the world

Team-driven (as opposed to top-down) and always supportive. Everyone has a voice and opportunity to make all kinds of contributions.

Review from Engineering Dept

Everyone is working together for a great cause. And we're having real impact.

Review from Product Dept

We value what's best for students and teachers. We respond quickly to feedback. Our work is serious but day to day we keep it fun.

Review from Product Dept

As a remote employee we've worked very hard to find a balance to feel included. It took time, but I'm very comfortable at this point.

Review from Product Dept

Optimism, autonomy, and common mission. Everyone cares about the mission, and we have a lot of flexibility in how to reach it.

Review from Engineering Dept

Our mission is tangibly awesome, and you can feel how each and every person at the org is working toward that on a daily basis.

Review from Business Development Dept

Positive impact on millions of students and teachers, as advertised.

Review from Engineering Dept

We are working to change the face of Computer Science in education so everyone is working very hard to reach this goal.

Review from Business Development Dept

Very flat; lots of interaction without constraint of hierarchy or physical positioning (walls)

We have a very flexible and comfortable work culture. Hours are flexible, work from home, wear what you want.

Review from Product Dept

Everything is positive. We are looking to change the world -- within the space of education and access to computer science for underrepresented students across the world. Our culture starts with our CEO, who is a warrior - a kind, gentlehearted warrior who inspires us on the daily.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
