I've been with the company for many years and the only time I have ever gotten a decent raise was when I thought about leaving.

I was asked to take on a new role with expanded responsibilities, a high margin engagement that I was heavily involved in securing, but received no additional compensation. It truly feels like fair raises or promotions are only available to those who say they will leave the company.
