They need to stop micromanaging and let teachers just teach. They also need to have reasonable expectations for classroom performance, both of teachers and students. Academic coaches should be people with at least 10 years of actual teaching experience.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation is not all that bad but teachers usually get paid once per month partly because payroll for thousands of teachers takes time. With Elevate you are a contractor, paid cash. And you're still paid once per month.

Twenty dollars an hour is not sufficient pay for a certified teacher, especially when you also have to spend your own time prepping adaptations of their poorly written content.

What are some of the best things about your team?

We are all so supportive of each other and we genuinely enjoy each other's company.

They care about the company and the customers and the mission

Its a team of dedicated, thoughtful and fun professionals!

Everyone is a team player, hard working, and just a good person to be around.

Teachers support each other. Induction coaches, academic coaches, and program liaisons are great!

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Leadership that is focused on its people

It would be great if they were trained properly to work with others, teachers and students alike.

There needs to be better training for the classroom coaches so that they know how to handle technical difficulties.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Working on important projects that help students and teachers

My teammates and their supportive and encouraging nature.

I like teaching and learning to teach in new ways because of things like Covid. While teaching from home, I like getting to know my students and how they learn.

I know that I'm making a difference in children's lives.
