What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

ESRI's leadership has made it their mission to put employees first. By doing this, employees like me feel good about coming to work and pushing the company's goals forward. We will do what it takes to take care of an organization that is taking care of us.

Posted 7 days ago

They maintain good working and personal relationships with each individual employee. we are recognized for our efforts, events in our lives are remembered, and they offer continuous support.

Posted 8 days ago

friendly and care of the team.

Posted 13 days ago

My leadership team is consistently available and responsive.

Posted 15 days ago

Very supportive and understanding but also trusting that we can do our job without needing to be micromanaged. They are excellent at developing us as employees and keeping us knowledgeable about what is going on within the company. I am lucky to have the leadership team that I do on the GBD AEC team

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership Reviews

Do a better job at helping grow in my career

Consider promoting staff without degrees, they have just as much knowledge and experience as those that went to school over 30,40 years ago. It is elitist to not allow that.

Review from Admin Dept

Favoritism seems to be pretty frequent at least in my dept and building. I have heard that the rest of esri is better than my dept so I am trying to find a new team because as of now I do not have positive things to say about this company and how they treat their employees especially if they are poc

Review from Marketing Dept

Manage people effectively and provide coaching for improvement and development

Leadership is a click, and there is a wall between 'leadership and front-line workers'. Leadership needs to solicit employee feedback via town halls and anonymous surveys, which is not currently done.

Review from Business Development Dept

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

Pay is very competitive and medical/dental are covered fully by ESRI. Not many companies do that anymore.

Posted 7 days ago

Paid good health and dental insurance

Posted 13 days ago

I like being able to work extra and being able to bank my hours.

Posted 15 days ago

The benefits are great so far. I do wish the salary was more in line with the industry, but having a steady paycheck without worrying about commission is nice. I feel very fortunate to be here.

Review from Business Development Dept · Posted 15 days ago

Benefits are great! Medical, Vision and Dental are covered 100%!! No one else does that anymore.

Posted 21 days ago

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

I do believe we should be given more sick hours, and my current wage is less than I was hoping for considering the prestige of this company and my own experience.

Posted 8 days ago

very skimpy vacation time policy

Review from Business Development Dept

I am a longtime employee, so I earn more than newer employees. They try to equalize pay by not giving this employee raises.

Review from Marketing Dept

Taking into account the position and the requirement of driving into work 5 days a week. Those that are paid more have a savings withs a hybrid schedule, compensating for the drive those that drive would alleviate that stress and time.

Review from Admin Dept

A higher salary would be great. The benefits make up for it (e.g., billable overtime hours).

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

My team is THE BEST!

Posted 7 days ago

We are all very open minded, and work well together as our communication stays fluent.

Posted 8 days ago

consideration, friendly, proactive, knowledgeable, accountable

Posted 13 days ago

they are very down to earth and easy to work with.

Posted 15 days ago

My coworkers are incredibly eager to help each other. They are so smart and always are working in our customer's best interest. There must be a secret sauce to hiring at Esri, because the people are phenomenal.

Review from Business Development Dept · Posted 15 days ago

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

They need to understand that we are a team and having a balanced workload supports that team best. When they hoard the work to promote themselves isn't conducive of a collaborative environment.

Review from Admin Dept

It feels too cliquey and not welcome to talk to anybody. They act as if they are too busy to be bothered to talk to you and interactions seemed forced.

Review from Marketing Dept

My department has some great employees, but other departments have some very lazy employees that don't seem to do much.

Review from Marketing Dept

Everyone on the Developer Experience team is very respectful. Results may vary across other teams.

Stop being misogynistic, be open minded (easily come to conclusion without considering other opinions or options), so ego manic. At times, gas lighting just to prove they are "right" but in fact they know nothing of what they are talking about.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

Teamwork is key, it happens and it's lived day in and day out!

Posted 7 days ago

We're progressive. Culturally, scientifically, operationally - Esri strives for the newest and best in all endeavors.

Posted 8 days ago

environmental friendly, and people are nice to each other here.

Posted 13 days ago

Being able to talk to everyone in person at the office and that translates to our work that we do remotely. It is a perfect balance.

Posted 15 days ago

The culture is harmonious and customer focused. I also love the environmental stewardship component and work that Esri does. I have also always loved maps and it's great to be around fellow map nerds. The headquarters is beautiful and somewhere to be proud of.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Environment Reviews

Clearer individual visions to help achieve the overall vision. A lot of work is open ended, self motivated, and created. That work is barely tracked or compensated adequately.

Management is disconnected from reality. We receive no cost of living increases and our merit increases don't even keep up with inflation. New hires are making more than employees of over 15+ years experience. When complaints are made HR and Management fight over whose responsibility it is.

Review from Customer Support Dept

What did you like most about the interview process?

Interviews Reviews

My interviews were all remote, however there were several rounds of interviews over a couple of weeks. I appreciated the flexibility in not requiring travel to be interviewed for the position.

Review from Sales Dept

I enjoyed being able to talk to several of my future coworkers and leaning from their experiences.

Review from Engineering Dept

The interviewers were intelligent and the questions were what is mostly done in the job

Review from Engineering Dept

There was a lot of communication throughout the process.

Review from Customer Success Dept

A lot of one on ones

What makes you most happy at work?

Outlook Reviews

My team, my role! ESRI is a unicorn of a company. I don't believe there are many companies with a similar employee focused cultured. It is successful because it ensures that its people are taken care of! We will take care of our customers as a result.

Posted 7 days ago

I appreciate having my own little nook (desk) but it is still open-concept enough that I can stand up and ask a colleague a question, or easily access my leads/managers. Our atrium is gorgeous to take breaks in.

Posted 8 days ago

when I accomplish the tasks

Posted 13 days ago

Being able to problem solve and talk to my team!

Posted 15 days ago

The culture of learning and working with my team.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Outlook Reviews

Favoritism and mean girl attitudes from middle management needs to stop.

Review from Marketing Dept

Company leadership does not have enough top down initiative, and as a result, there is often a lack of communication between teams, late in development emergencies, and a general lack of a shared direction.

workload, uneven work life balance

Review from Business Development Dept

In 30 years with the company, I've watched things change & not for the better. Benefits are great, pay's not commensurate with industry standards. The return to office mandate is counter to ESRI's professed concern for the environment. WFH worked; it's good for the planet & workers mental wellbeing.

Review from Customer Support Dept

I feel undervalued. Opportunities for career growth are limited and often shut down. New hires make more money than 7+ year experienced employees. Esri tries to justify low pay with "great" benefits but these benefits are industry standard. Also, I can't pay rent or buy groceries with benefits.
