Understand that we are people, not numbers. And invest in salaries for other departments than sales. One sales employee makes about 4-5 times what other employees make and other employees are paid about 20-25% below market value.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Base is much lower than market. And compared to the high inflation, the increase earlier this year is too low.

The same role in the job market pays at least 10k more with bonuses. Unfortunately, Everbridge does not offer that and you will never attract or retain top talent.

Small increments to salary - 5% doesn't do a lot to a take home salary, makes the uplift almost pointless. Then to be told no additional funds are available, but have the CFO constantly speak of how much cash is in the bank account is very insulting

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Everbridge is slow to invest in new directions and very slow in adopting change to software.

Product decisions need to factor in what clients need / want more than hat the SMT deem is required. asking for a modification to complete an unfinished piece of work requires SMT sign off slowing the process and s counter intuitive when one of the company goals is to "delight our customers".

Mostly because my current role isn't my dream job. A lot of work to do that isn't very exciting, but need to be done. I don't think there's alternative for me within Everbridge

Every company wants hyper-growth on par with Facebook/ Netflix/ etc. We won't do that while we're using waterfall. We've implemented 'Safe Agile' but 'Safe Agile' is just Waterfall dressed up pretending to be Agile. XP would be best, and solves multiple cultural, financial, and technical problems.
