I have worked very hard to be in my position and with the increase in starting wages at most major retailers I now make the same as a high-school student working their first job at Walmart. A teenager can go to work and horse around all day and make the same as I do after years of hard work.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It's very informative and engaging.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We do our best to constantly lift each others spirits even though times are tough with short staffed teams and holiday demands.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My immediate management team it very dedicated to driving results for our store. So we all work well together to accomplish this goal.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I'm part if the leadership team and we care so much about keeping our store a float. They are the only people in my store I know I can count on.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We need to be paid more to make the job worth the effort. Upset customers, understaffed, crazy workloads, all of that is easier to deal with when you are properly compensated.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel appreciated in my position by my fellow management team. However, I feel as though the corporate leaders do not care at all about the sacrifices that I make daily to drive results for our store and it shows by how little they choose to pay me especially when other retailers pay more to start.
