I’m very secure of my job at macys
Personally my job always felt safe. You have to do something really stupid to get fired. Most people in my 15 years got fired for: 1) stealing 2) coming to work intoxicated 3) being rude to customers or staff 4) intentionally damaging company property. See stupid things. Also, be ware security will run stings. They did things like set a dollar bill on the floor. If you walk out of the store with it your fired for theft.
What's the company culture like at Macy's?
There is absolutely no tolerance for discrimination. I love the diversity of our guests and that the diversity of our guests is reflected in our staff.

If you could fix one thing about your team, what would it be?
I wish I could alleviate the negative stress and blame that falls on regular associates from management.

Each person for themselves, I can't remember the last time I got input from my boss , she's always on vacation. Or I don't work enough hours to meet with her.

To faze out employees, and make it an all online Internet site. Closing stores doesn't help and threatening to close store's does nothing for morale.

Don't get a Macy's credit card, and put some of that paycheck in a 401k.

Dress to impress. Remember that this is a major retail company so put your best foot forward. That being said, no jeans, sneakers, shirts with logos and no leggings. Also, your best accessory is a smile! Good luck.
What's the work from home policy like at Macy's?
No work from home.
Well, with one of the managers I had it was terrible. She would not let me work from home at all and she was not flexible with my hours. However, my next manager was much more flexible but he did also call me at home when I was not on the clock. I was hourly so he should not have been calling me unless the hours were going to be counted.

I love the culture and inclusiveness that Macy's has. We have so many different races, religions and languages here at our store. It's a nice thing to have in the store.

I'm on a flex schedule, that's why I get no hours, because she doesn't have to give me any if she doesn't want to.
