  • Depends on the store. Management is everything and if you have a good manager that respects his employees and is invested in his team, then the team will be very happy. I have been to some stores where management just didn't care, and it's obvious as soon as you open the door. Other stores, like my own, have people who come in on a regular basis just to hang out. Kind of like a coffee shop.

  • Team outings are usually reserved for SMs and higher. We just had a weekend bbq and camping event for our region. Since the stores are open 364 days of the year (we only close for xmas) it's hard for me to get my team all together for an outing, so as a SM I trying to take team members out in small groups for lunch.

  • we don't have team outings or any other morale building events at all that are work sanctioned.

  • Be yourself. Dress like you're already going to work there. A nice polo shirt and khakis goes a long way. It's a parts house. Don't come to the interview looking like you're going to be the next VEO of the company.

  • As an SM its a bit of a problem. Im usually mentally drained at the end of the day and just want to go home and decompress. My days off constantly change, so it's hard to get together with friends to have fun.
