I have worked in the corporate pet industry for 6 years. Working at Petco has been a very stressful 2 years. Contacting HR for accommodations is terrible. I have never felt so discouraged or discriminated against. I have tried 2 separate times, both via Fax and through email.

Salon helps support each other!
What makes you most happy at work?
My clients. Making people and animals happy. Helping pets feel better.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Communication! None of the managers are on the same page. And none are knowledgeable regarding polices.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Salon people are weird. (In a good way) We are normally a great group of people. Very supportive. But floor staff/managers hardly help or interact.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Schedule is all over the place. Constantly going past scheduled hours and being told to cut time. Working more than an hour past shift due to incorrect online booking.
What would you improve about your company's interview process?
Hiring people looking for a career in grooming. Not just people who have been around animals. Looking at a history of working somewhere longer than a year. And not just hiring because you “liked them
