I work hard everyday I love the digs I groom but the owners can be abusive. I wish our store manager had more power to support the salon staff rather than us having to put up with hateful comments.
What makes you most happy at work?
Seeing my dogs go out the door smelling and looking better than when they came in. Also having my services repeatedly requested.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Salon staff try to help each other if we have a difficult dog or we have to call a dogs parents in early due to dogs being aggressive.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I was made to feel at ease by the interviewers asking about my own pets and my family. It made me feel like they cared about me. Not just what I had to offer.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The executives who visit our store try to talk down to salon staff. They don't just let us do our jobs. Many have no idea what happens in our salon or what breed specific curs mean.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Our Healthcare should be better. It cost me $91 for an urgent care visit to treat a stress related heart issue. I had been so stressed at work that I was having heart palpitations. This is unacceptable.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We cannot be candid about improvements or changes we see could be made. We are told to not bring up anything that will cost the store money such as getting new dryer for laundry or new kennels when ours were falling apart.
