The company has several areas where improvement is needed. (Part management, work load balance, employee retention, employee development, operation procedures, to name a few). The leaders of the company seem to recognize some of these issues and are looking for solutions.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Leadership team does not understand what leadership is.

Listening to their direct reports. There are people who have been at Shuttleworth a long time. Some on the leadership team need to understand our product better. Some have been here a while and still don't know how or where to direct efforts.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

There are a few things that I would like to see added but what I am offered seems to be average. Meaning that I am not left lacking.

Salary and PTO. I like the fact that PTO is very flexible and for the most parts you can take the PTO when you need and want.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I do the job of multiple people due to being short staffed and am not compensated for it. Also inflation has resulted in my previous raise being more of a pay cut than a raise.

Merit raises are not keeping pace with inflation. Management needs to seriously consider increasing compensation to retain talented and experienced employees.

Yes. Pay increases that reflect not only true cost of living increases but the amount of work performed. "Great job on another record year! Three years in a row!...sorry best we can do is 3% pay increases with '9%' inflation."

As experience and education advance, so should compensation and position. There is a need to keep up with inflation as well.

as a salaried employee i am expected to work at least my 8 hours everyday even if my work is ahead. My compensation reflects a 40 hour work week but i am averaging around 50 hrs a week. If we are salaried we should be treated like we are responsible enough to get the project done on our own hours.

We work hard and do our best to communicate with each other to solve problems even when management is not around.

Important decisions are made at our level. That allows experts on the matter to make decisions and have accountability at the same time.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Leadership team members showing up on time for meetings and staying for the whole meeting. Every time a VP shows up late or leaves early for a meeting, it's very disrespectful to the remaining attendees. Leadership team listening more to their team.

The company is simply average in what it does without excelling in anything. Limited manufacturing, suboptimal organization, assembly is delayed from missing parts, engineering is mixed with different levels of experience. The company needs to focus on each area individual and improve beyond average

Quality is not a priority. Timelines are too aggressive. Management is too prideful to admit mistakes or acknowledge good ideas. There is little to no incentive to do a good job. Make quality a priority, use realistic timelines, and reward people for good work and/or ideas.
