CEO stability has been much better the last few years. Amy Zupon is committed to the organization and I feel she has pride and desire to realize our customer value. The rest of the c-suite is more in flux - seems constant changes here. These would be harder to handle if Amy Zupon wasn't there.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Bonus plan is fairly competitive in the marketplace, although formula for it is not transparent nor clear throughout the year. Not knowing the exact formula gives perception (and opportunity) to make the bonus % whatever execs want.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel that the pay for developers in QQ Catalyst is low for the market. Many of us could be making 1.5-2x the pay we're currently getting. Not to mention several jobs have been eliminated on our team do to attrition and have not been filled.

Compensation is EMBARRASSINGLY low compared to both the area and industry as a whole. Paying people $30k-$40k UNDER the industry average and $10K-$15K under the low income level for the area is absurd. Not to mention any time it's brought up, leadership skirts around the topic and avoids addressing

First timers into People management is tough for the team especially when manager feels superiority over the team coz of their tech background., A skip level meeting with the director would be very helpful in such cases.

Organization set up to allow for clear communication and workflows. A move away from everyone as a resource and the attempt to squeeze every penny out of people, process, and activity. And when something is done (benifits/perks) they are done well not to a minimum that meets a marketing line.

It wasn't a terribly long process like some other companies - an online "test", a call or two, and one in-person interview (pre-covid). Things may have changed since then though.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The technology being used in the applications are too old and brittle because no time had been spent on tech debt. The processes are really inefficient as well. Basically the phrase "sunk-cost fallacy" comes to mind in terms of technology and processes

POs and higher-ups are pushing for unrealistic timelines which causes developers to work extreme hours. We don't have time to see our families.

Constant changing of direction by leadership is exhausting and inefficient. Then we are told we are getting things done fast enough.

We have a ton of work/time-commitments from above the product team causing stress as the teams must adjust and devote time to huge projects that should take ideally 3-4 years to do, rather than 6 months. Especially as some legacy products are not as fast as others due to resource constraints.
