My immediate leadership is lacking, and beyond a few cursory emails to keep us updated about progress of business, I don't interact with the upper echelon.
When I'm listened to & trusted about issues that arise. When they accept my ideas and use them. When I do a good job making something and it turns out awesome.
If they didn't promote so many incompetent people, I might feel more valued. The incompetent people gate-keep those of us who aren't incompetent from making any beneficial changes. If leadership wasn't so blind, I would feel better.
90% of my coworkers are lazy underachievers. All but a slim few have any integrity for their work. My lead is a bully, a liar, and a sniveling coward. We need more accountability for our work and rewards based on meritorious performance, not seniority.
I didn't really like any of it. Interviews are not fun. I had no idea if they even liked me or were confident in hiring me. Just getting to the interview was a nightmare. They weren't rude, but they weren't reassuring and friendly, either.
More reward based on actual meritorious work, not seniority. Listening to your employees. Allowing even the lower level people in on brainstorming and giving ideas. An R&D Budget instead of insisting workers use their private time to make new stuff to improve the product. Shared Creative Ownership.
