I'm pushed every day just the right amount. My job is an excellent fit with my intellectual interests. I get peer feedback that I'm making a positive impact. What's not to like? I'm sure everyone's experience may not be as awesome as mine, but I'm having a great time.
What makes you most happy at work?
Working on high-impact projects with very interesting intellectual challenges.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone's working towards a culture of honesty and teamwork; we all make mistakes, but we try to call those out and figure out how to improve.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Sila is slowly developing a culture of naming our mistakes openly, but seeking to blame process instead of people wherever possible ... and then using that cold sober evaluation to change how we do things.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We have the most active DEI groups I've ever seen (and I've worked at 3 very progressive "woke" Silicon Valley companies): SWAGN (Sila Women and Gender Non-conforming), SiLatines, etc., they welcoming participation of "Allies" and host though-provoking and awareness-generating speakers.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Sila's equity sharing is generous, and Sila has made it possible for some employees to liquidate options pre-IPO. Medical benefits are better than most, co-pays are low and the programs are aimed at letting employees focus on work and not worry about health coverage much.
