Great industry and company shows promise, but internally, the marketing department needs a ton of work. Many of us know what it takes to do well, but innovation and creativity are stifled by corporate bloat and obstacle-ridden processes.

While Sunnova is a solid company with a lot of growth potential, I believe there are numerous internal barriers to achieve true success. Some executives prefer political finger pointing and "lipstick on a pig" to owning what we need to work on and laying down a clear, roadmapped vision for success.

I strongly suggest NOT testing new hires for cannabis. This is a backwards policy that is out of touch w reality, current law & probably deters some applicants. The majority of adults consume cannabis legally & support legalization. I've never had another employer test for cannabis use.

The term we use to launch the new Business Markets division is "flying the plane while we are building it." This keeps the day to day challenging and exciting. It is possible because everyone on the team is bought in and committed to the same goal.

Executives drive silos of priorities and objectives. New hires are untrained and inexperienced. New hires know nothing and have no path to figuring out how this place operates without failing and causing problems for other departments.

There is no blame when a decision or outcome of effort doesn't yield the desired result. We work together to identify why we failed as a team, and implement a better strategy for the next attempt. Their is open collaboration because we trust each other is there to support and compliment oneanother

As a remote worker, I have not noticed any discernible culture or environment at Sunnova. Even the Quarterly Town Halls seem to be geared toward people working in the office. Would be nice if remote workers got $10-15 to get lunch during those events, at the same time lunch is provided to HQ people.

While my immediate team is great, other teams work in silos - making it tough to collaborate. There is also a lack of culture for remote workers, and no opportunities to visit the Houston HQ. Would be nice to be able to go to a Town Hall or holiday party in person.
