Union Pacific Railroad Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Retirement and medical benefits are nice

Health benefits and pay is good.

Health insurance and retirement benefits

Salaries a ok but based on omaha standards

Railroad retirement and the 401k match.

Railroad retirement and health insurance

Benefits and pay stock options

Employee stock purchase plan is a great new benefit

It has everything I need for my family

Just be fair to workers

Compensation is top notch, and you will be expected to exchange 100% of your life for it. Do not have any expectation of free time in any form once you are in management ranks. If you are okay with this, this is the place for you. You will be paid handsomely.

Whole family covered at good rate.

Review from Operations Dept

We get more money than people on social security.

Pay and benefit are good

Review from Operations Dept

Enrollment in Railroad Retirement instead of social security

Review from Operations Dept

The pay is good until you consider the hours

Pension plan and other retirement benefits

Review from Operations Dept

The pay is pretty good.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

More off time. More money. The last pay raise came after fighting with the company over 4 years basically the 20 something years we have just maybe are keeping up with economy. We need hazardous pay bonus and time off. If we get a raise the heath care changes increases

The Korn Ferry cuts & demotions demoralized most everyone while cutting future earning potential AND adding more work on the best and brightest that were already overworked. This is why many are leaving.

Negotiate a decent and fair contract instead of wanting to give pennies on the dollar if we are so valued

Haven't got a raise in 4 years. Cut off a third of the workforce and expect everyone to work harder and do multiple jobs.

Its been 3 years without an updated contract. We are expected to pay more out of pocket and the proposed wage increases are less than half of the projected inflation for this year alone. They are literally offering us a pay cut.

A cost of living wage increase that keeps up with current inflation would be a good start. Every year our health insurance costs go up which effectively cancels any raise.

We are charged attendance wise for Halloween, The Superbowl, Good Friday...but are NOT compensated for the holidays when you work on the road

Better health insurance, and pay ! With out repercussions

Get away from retention atock. Bait and switch scheme.

Best thing to do is quit or don't apply.

Review from Operations Dept

Company is constantly taking everything away!! Its all about the stock price

Base pay on merit and not levels or make the levels more accessible.

I dont know you guess

We struggle to get raises at every contract and then work without a contract for 2 years or more. We havent had a raise in almost 2 years now . The raise never amounts to the cost of living increase.

Review from Operations Dept

Every union contract goes backwards. Poorer medical, more expensive medical, retirement benefits decreasing. No 401k matching, except for management. Avery expensive retire that doesn't pay for itself......ever.

Review from Operations Dept

they dont even allow paid sick days and medical keeps going up. They want you at work sick.

Review from Operations Dept

The top demonstrates over and over again how disconnected with their workforce they truly are. Mr Fritz is a great orator, but a terrible leader.

Review from Operations Dept

Actions taken to protect the company or save money is not recognized by senior management. After 20 years, stock options annually as part of compensation would be nice.

Review from Operations Dept

Health care no longer good. No bonuses or safety awards allowed
