There are a lot of small things that drive you crazy there but then you think about the 80 hrs/ yr paid vacation plus 4 personal days plus 2 volunteer days plus free covered parking plus an Xmas bonus equal to 2 weeks pay plus about a 15% annual performance bonus plus 8% matching 401k plus up to an additional 10% of pay added to 401k each year plus paid college tuition from 1st day of employment for any degree plus generous maternity AND paternity leave plus a lot of opportunities to move around plus it’s one of the highest rated companies to work for. There may be pockets where morale is not too good, mostly happens when a reorganization occurs, but overall I’d say the morale is mostly at the top of the chart. Working there provides a great quality of life and that’s huge!

  • Very high.

Asked to the IT Department at USAA

  • We have a lot of new folks at the top of IT leadership so giving them our best effort as they get up to speed. There’s also a little more churn at the top then what we’ve had in the past.

  • Leadership team is a solid mix of experienced USAA folks along with new to USAA but wealth of industry experience. I find them very good at setting direction and letting teams execute. As we are a very large IT organization you will always find folks citing specific examples of leadership gone bad but overall IT leadership here has a very good track record.
