I love working in general but the store i work at is chronically understaffed. So working with a crew of three including myself when it should be i believe 8-9 gets old after awhile. Especially when the GM doesn't appreciate her workers. She plays favorites a lot.
What makes you most happy at work?
My customers first and foremost as well as most of my coworkers.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We do our best to have a good time even though we are totally stressed. We joke around with one another and laugh a lot.
What did you like most about the interview process?
The manager that interviewed me is no longer at my store. However she was very thorough on getting your availability and working with you regarding your needs.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I don't believe i have one. However recently our whole store received pay increases to $15/hr for starting crew and $16/hr for starting managers. The RM's make $16.50/hr to start. So considering what this job actually entails i think thats amazing!
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
My GM tends to be rude and disrespectful to staff as well as customers. If you arent one of her favorites she will berate, yell and embarrass you in front of other staff and customers. She will blame people for things they didn't do. Overall she is just plain mean.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Well most of what i call our shift leads are barely 18. We have such a hard time finding good long term employees that basically once you've hired if you can pass a background check you will get promoted to manager. Even if you no call/no show on a regular basis, come in late or leave early.
