Brevemente descreva a sua experiência na companhia.

Intellectually stimulating and personally rewarding, with excellent mentorship and management. The pay is significantly less than was initially stated when hired (contractual/logistic restraints). We're sub-contracted to another company that is frequently disorganized, which can elevate stress.

Brevemente descreva a sua experiência na companhia.

Excellent co-workers/supervisor. Fascinating technical work and cool mission. Stagnating compensation.

The individuals on this program are immensely supportive, good-humored and have been excellent collaborators and mentors.

O que você mais gosta nos lideres?

They don't seem as prone to micromanaging or overzealously pushing corporate structures that can often impede real-world, unconventional missions in hostile areas.

Stress is kept at minimal levels (even when there's a large surge in taskings or difficulty), due in large part to having great co-workers and a phenomenally supportive supervisor.

The people that you immediately work with are great. There's a cohesive spirit or comradery similar to the military, which translates into genuine teamwork and a really healthy/balanced work environment.

The work itself consistently stimulates my curiosity, which to me, is the most important aspect of a job (or really, anything in life). The work-life balance is also generally very good, which is key.

The culture is relaxed from a management perspective, which provides the necessary flexibility to workers for accomplishing the mission. Co-workers are supportive when troubleshooting complex issues, and will happily assist at any hour of the day.

Troubleshooting and solving problems, but lately the workflow has felt overwhelming due to trending maintenance issues that I believe stem from engineering failures. Due to this deluge of sporadic/intermittent, hard-to-pin-down set of troubleshooting constraints, I have become frustrated and bitter.

Our local work culture in our shop is amazing; however, the prime contractor (different company) is very disorganized and stressful to deal with. I wish our corporate level leadership could actually affect beneficial changes to our contract, but there's little to no movement on this.

AEVEX is a good company with excellent managers and great culture; however, our pay on this specific contract heavily relies on frequent OCONUS deployments (to high uplift/hazard pay areas), which have failed to materialize. Consequently, we remain stateside permanently with a 38% loss in annual pay

My immediate supervisor at our site is amazing and I have nothing negative to say about him. Best boss I've ever had. The program manager is really solid too. Higher level leadership seems a bit disconnected. There's been an ever-increasing amount of penny pinching and growing pains.

I accepted this position at AEVEX with the implicit understanding that I would get numerous opportunities to deploy overseas to combat zones, which is the only way to make a significant amount of money with this job (uplift/danger pay in warzones etc). These opportunities are rapidly dwindling.

I actively enjoy interacting with my co-workers, as they're very easy to get along with, mature and sensible. Everyone knows what needs to be done for the mission, and we all conduct ourselves accordingly. We're supportive of each other and strive to never leave work for the next shift.

Excellent co-workers and immediate supervisor. Everyone is prior military, good-humored and very down to earth. Our work culture is highly flexible and relaxed most of the time. When there's work to be done, everyone comes to together to knock it out. We often hangout outside of work (not forced).

Compensation hasn't kept up with the local market rates or changes to our program. Hourly CONUS pay should be increased or somehow offset if you're unable to deploy OCONUS for over a year (this way you aren't effectively taking a pay cut due to lack of deployment uplift pay).

We make $10k less a year than the average defense contractor in our local market (according to trend data). Anecdotally, most of the contractors I know on base are making at least $10/hr more than us. Our work is quite technical and even engineering-adjacent at times, so a fair wage seems sensible.

It probably varies depending on the specific job or program that you're on, but in my case, the initial interview was a very relaxed and informal chat with the program manager. He basically told me on the spot that he intended to hire me. A second interview was done with HR "as a formality".
