Golden Hippo has a lot of great aspects such as a positive company culture, challenging but fun projects, and rewards for good work. There are some drawbacks though including below market rate compensation, layoffs and firings, and a sometimes heavy workload.

Having creative and ever-changing projects to work on. Things have never felt repetitive or monotonous.

We are encouraged to contribute our own ideas, accomplishments are celebrated and employees are kept in the loop on company changes fairly well.

A kind, easygoing attitude where I never feel like I have to put on any sort of 'corporate mask.' Good support and feedback on my work.

My peers and I are able to work together very well, without ever dealing with negative office politics or toxicity. Everyone I work with is very kind and positive to be around.

I have control over what each day will look like and what projects I get to work on. I have clear goals to work towards and am rewarding for accomplishing those goals.

Golden Hippo has a lot of great perks and benefits, but it feels as though these are done to make up for our base salary being so uncompetitive. I would much prefer a higher salary over so many company events and perks.

My salary is about 15% lower than my previous position which had the same title and was in a state with a much lower cost of living. I do understand that I am new and there is potential for merit increase, but I do feel like my position and workload could warrant a slightly higher initial salary.
