It was the wild west when I started. Limited rules, maximum backing and absolute trust. These things were required to get moving at the begining. Now the pace has slowed, we are more deliberate, have structure and documentation. The transition is hard on/for some, but it will secure our future.
Everyone is committed to the mission
PTO accrual is incredibly high
flying planes that will leave "dents" in the world
although bad, shared suffrage has built strong core groups within my team
we have some absolute rock stars on my team. highly intelligent and exceptionally hard working
Not everyone socializes outside of work, but we come into the office and work as a team. Mutual respect, mutual expectation of excellence.
successful flight operation and everyone being involved. It build team cohesion and helps all of us learn and to depend on each other.
a lot of the unpleasantries stay in the background or are handled before they get to the team. We are encouraged to solve the problems we face. sometimes this gate keeps relevant information
I work a lot of different sections; Least often is the one I was hired for. But there are places that need better low level leadership and find tuning processes; that is where I most often find myself.
I have been promoted 3 times in the last 20 months and have not had any sort of pay restructure. I received an annual 3% raise and have at least double the responsibilities as I did when I started.
Leadership understands they are not the experts in every field. That each team has at least 1 solid member that can answer any questions. Individual teams are given a lot of freedom to make change and implement standards to better produce our products.
With how we change rapidly, I have been promoted 3 times in the last 18 months or so. The only look at compensation increase has been 3% in an annual review. I feel I should have been given an out-of-cycle bump for changing to a leadership position.
when I am given a task, it is up to me to make good decisions and succeed. I get checked in on but not micro managed. If I need help, it comes in droves. When I am asked to fill in or help, I am given every confidence.
The standards we create are the standards adhered to by all. We discuss, augment and eliminate changes as needed. Mid to Upper management believes we are doing the best we can, and give us full confidence to make the changes. Once we implement, everyone falls in line with little pushback.
My Director and new SR director are awesome. I feel they observe myself and the rest of my team as people and then employees. That drives me to want to succeed more/harder/better. As for SR. Leadership, with the change in SVP, I feel TS is getting back to empowering people rather than iron fist rule
Catered lunches. I love it, the team loves it, it saves a ton of time by not having to take a lunch break and leave for 60-90 mins every day. If we work long days (often we do) dinner is also taken care of. This is a cultural staple of Aevex TS and a time saver.
