I love my company. I love the people at my company. Its a great place to work. I dont get paid nearly what I should be getting paid for all the qualifications I have and years of service in the industry that ive worked. I have been pigeonholed into a corner doing menial things that dont pay well
What are some of the best things about your team?
Honesty. Openness. Willingness to help others. Sense of humor.
What makes you most happy at work?
Repairing challenging vehicles. The edge cases of the strange and weird car problems.
What do you like best about your company?
Freedom. My company allows me to just do what I do best without hovering and questioning everything.
What would you most like to see improved at your company?
A pay structure for technicians based on years of experience and certifications with an annual performance review/bonus for workmanship.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are transparent and upfront when communicating things to us, even if its not so great news, they dont sugar coat it. They present the facts as they are. I like that directness.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
My resume listed many unique and rare skills, yet none of those highly specialized skills are ever called upon and I can never showcase my talents. I am passed over when the chance arises to show the company what talents I have. Other car companies are always looking for specialists like myself
What did you like most about the interview process?
All the key people I would be working with on a daily basis were present and the interview was similar to a weekly meeting. It was not stiff and ridged, just 3 managers, my shop foreman and myself having a conversation to get to know one another and see if I fit in and were what they wanted.
