Caring about their employees, committing to and communicating their strategy long-term, sharing Appian's financial successes with the employees

Changing their actions based on employee feedback. They love to "listen" to feedback, but I have never seen the executive team change course based on that feedback.

Market strategy. If AI is an area we are going all-in on, then staffing and initiatives should reflect this. Retention and Employees. Forcing return to office without measured data to justify why shows a big disconnect between executives and employees.

I recently transitioned roles and have been getting paid at the baseline of my new role despite having more experience and knowledge than someone else who might be coming from elsewhere to start in this role. I think my experience with Appian warrants better pay in this new role.

Base pay has changed very little over the past few years despite inflation and Appian becoming profitable. It would be good to see more commitment to employee wellbeing by increasing pay regularly and finding more ways to reward employees

Appian has a great work culture, that needs to reflect at every group level and in their functioning.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Lack of interest by executives in employee needs or opinions. This is especially evident by the incoming 9-5 five day in-office RTO policy that's incredibly unpopular across the company.

People are losing trust in executive leadership due to moving targets, impossible goals, laack of flexibility, lack of willingness to provide straightforward answers to straightforward questions, etc.

Since 2022, there was an abrupt shift in how Appian treats its employees. The RTO mandate and the talent snapshot process proved that Appian now sees employees as cogs in a machine, and mere numbers. This built resentment in many people, among both ICs and managers, and reinforces a bad culture.
