    Yes, I've done it before. One thing that is usually promoted is moving to another team that you would be happier on, however, it is not a quick process. There is always some overlap in what you're doing, so you feel as if you're being pulled in 2 different directions. They can never seem to hire someone quick enough to take over your old role, so you will stagnate across 2 teams until they can figure it out.

    Yes... if there's space and you're willing to wait. You can ask your manager and someone on the new team. Our resourcing is all built on backfilling & you'll straddle two teams for a while before the transition is complete.
