What makes you most happy at work?Knowing I'm part of a movement that is humanizing business is deeply satisfying. I love having the opportunity to creatively solve business challenges by embedding the voice of customers into our client organizations, making insights accessible and actionable.
What are some of the best things about your team?Everyone's super smart and caring. I think everyone on my team brings something different to the table which is wonderful. And the people I work with are genuinely nice and thoughtful as well. There's a real team mentality, no one feels left to their own devices I don't think, or competitive
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company? The company seems to really be backing our DEI initiatives, and is trying to restructure the company culture team in order to adapt to COVID times. How both end up going is still to be determined, but it's nice to see that they're at least giving it a little effort.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?Authenticity. Much of the messaging over the last two years has felt fake. We position things as good for the business when really it's good for Omnicom profits. We talk about making our clients' businesses human but we have our own work to do in that area.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?A bonus structure that the company could honor and annual increases that looked at other professional services firms.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation? We need to address year-to-year pay increase. Now, it is dependent on performance + how the company is doing, but not on real economic factors, like inflation. So, if you do not get promoted, and not seen as deserving a pay increase based on performance, inflation does not affect you?

We believe in a better way of doing business. Of treating customers as humans. Not as targets, data points or subjects who need convincing… but as people, who need a little help. Being human is about valuing what’s important to people – their emotions, their lives, their dreams, their realities. It’s about building relationships between a company and its customers on equal ground. Because relationships are the source of results. By humanizing business – breaking down the walls, departments and structures that keep customers on the outside – companies can integrate the people they’re trying to serve into the ways they work. To create change. To weave customers into the fabric of a company’s culture. To see bigger possibilities for customers, employees and business. To maximize growth and minimize risk. Working with customers, on equal ground, for mutual benefit, creating something we call, Customer-Inspired Growth.
We’re on a mission to make business more human. We believe that this challenge begins with us – so we aim to act more human too, as colleagues and as a business. At the heart of being human is a drive to learn, grow, change and adapt. So, our mission keeps us restless, it keeps us humble and it keeps us honest about what we need to do better. Fostering this learning culture means we prize a growth mindset and we provide unparalleled opportunities for personal growth. From the world-famous clients we collaborate with, to fostering diverse perspectives, to our internal university (C Space U) and guest Speaker Series – we're fostering a learning culture that pushes us to be at our very best.
We encourage all C Spacers to make the most of the two Volunteering Days to which they're entitled on top of their regular PTO. Some choose to spend this time volunteering at their children's school, or for a local organization that is important to them. Our CSR Committee also coordinate opportunities for our team to spend time together giving back to the local community. On our 2019 C Space Volunteering Day, this included planting city gardens, designing inclusive research programs for the Design Museum Foundation and working in soup kitchens.
In the past few years, we've also conducted pro bono projects for organizations such as Playworks, God's Love We Deliver and Big Brother, Big Sister, applying consulting skills from the workplace to support these organizations with critical business initiatives to grow their not-for-profits.
Many C Spacers also spend time volunteering on Election Day (an additional day on which we close the office so all C Spacers can get out to vote or encourage others to do so).

We are committed to building a truly diverse, equitable and inclusive organization. In the summer of 2020, we closed our business for a day and spent time together reflecting on what this would take and how we can drive more urgent change in this area. We shared with our organization that:,- We have a responsibility to build a business where EVERY C Spacer can fulfill their potential and be themselves at work.,- We cannot fulfil our promise as a Customer agency if we do not better represent and understand the people our clients serve. ,- We believe that we should contribute to building a fairer and more equitable society and break down the systems and structures that lead to racism and non-inclusive behavior., ,We also communicated that:,- We have not made this enough of a priority in the past and that’s changing now.,- It is not enough to be neutral. We need to be intentional about breaking down systemic racism and non-inclusive practices in and outside of our organization.,- Change starts with us – as a business and individuals., ,At C Space, we think about DEI in three ways:,- ME: Our biases and behavior as individuals,- WE: Our business systems, structures and culture,- WORK: How we work with clients & What we do for clients, ,We are committed to C Space better reflecting the communities and countries that we operate in and to hiring, developing and progressing diverse talent. We are proud of the progress we are making and know that there is still much to be done. , ,As of January 2021, 68% of our team is female. 61% of our senior teams (Director, VP or C-level) is female. 4 out of 6 of our Executive Team is female including the CEO, COO, Chief Client Officer and Chief Development Officer. , ,Currently, 24% of C Spacers across our team in the Americas identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous & People of Color). This has increased from 19% at the start of 2019. There is work for us to do to ensure that we diversify our most senior leadership teams and this will remain a focus over the coming years. We conduct a biannual pay and progression equity analysis which we publish for all C Spacers to review. This includes analysis (by race and gender) of salaries by role, tenure, progression rates and representation at different levels within the organization., ,We have a peer-appointed DEI Board which works closely alongside the Leadership Team to set our agenda, and an active Allies Group of 70+ who are champions for change, and we regularly invite in speakers to inspire and educate our team., ,We are on a journey, are making great progress and have much work still to do.
