What's the work from home policy like at CDK Global?
some get away with it and do nothing all day and others are not allowed.
The policy was just altered to restrict working remotely. The company has now put a focus on employees coming into the office daily, even if they are in roles that do not require employee or customer interaction (e.g., coders). Previously the policy was at manager-level discretion, but now any remote working is limited to 1-2 days per week and must be approved at the VP and HR level. It is a step backwards and damaging to employee engagement, especially to those that rely on flexible scheduling.

If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at CDK Global?
Remove percentage caps from pay increases and allow associates to move into new roles at the full compensation amount instead of restricting the maximum compensation increase to a percentage. Allow managers to give their direct reports raises without having to jump through hoops or fight a months long battle with HR. Also pay associates what they're worth according the national and regional averages.
I would stop pretending that our products are cutting edge by making the culture with this new age vs. Our products are old and out dated no matter how much you make everything look shiny.

How secure do you feel at your job at CDK Global?
More cuts due this year
Just gone through a round of redundancies in the UK , 10% or around 40 people loosing their job
4 rounds of lay offs a year... so not very safe.
What are your coworkers at CDK Global like?
Most are very nice people. They are many toxic people here, mostly in HR.

Decent.
2 weeks , use it or lose it. No vacation at the end of any quarter

What's the office vibe like at CDK Global?
Open floor plan, loud, obnoxious. hard to focus on anything unless you bring in some headphones to drown everyone else out.

What do people at CDK Global think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Most people I have talked with about this are just sitting around waiting for him to leave the company as that seems to be his pattern. Nobody takes him seriously.
he's one of the lowest rated CEO's in the US - look it up.
CEO has a track record for creating efficiencies via smoke and mirrors, then selling. Leadership is all over the place with regards to strategy.
How's the work life balance at CDK Global?
Fine.

depends on the team you work on. Some have no work life balance (most new initiatives), others have little work and are waiting to be let go.
What benefits does CDK Global provide?

A lot have Ben taken away recently - used to have free parking, now it's 130 a month - used to have reasonable mileage reimbursements now it's 40 cents - used to have company wide family events.. not anymore.
Below average - you have to pay for parking which is 200+ a month. They now no longer provide home internet and l the health insurance is pricey! They also stopped paying for my phone even though I get called nights and weekends almost every day.
The usual medical, dental, vision, disability, optional life, etc. Also HSA/FSA accounts and 401k retirement.

How do you feel about CDK Global's future?
Can you say merger??? The company will be bought out by another in a year or two.
If you are in Seattle, start looking for a new job.
Not a lot of confidence in it. About to hit a breaking point in the support world I think.
How does CDK Global make decisions around promotions?
They make it extremely difficult. Promotions must be approved by several leaders in the chain of command which takes a long time, and then once approved the employee's compensation is only increased by a capped percentage (usually around 7% max) instead of being increased to the appropriate compensation range for that role.
all decisions are made by the CTO.
Make friends with upper management and co-workers, whatever it takes. Talent and skill will only get you so far here. Recent layoffs have thrown the veterans and the young bucks into niches that doesn't fare well in the office.

Up and down, can be really busy or very slow.

How much and how often do raises happen at CDK Global?
Raises are rare, apart from minuscule annual merit increases. Raises and compensation adjustments must be cleared by a ridiculous number of people and usually require a months long fight to justify the increase. Comp adjustments are also capped by a tiered percentage so associates moving to roles in a higher pay grade can only receive a raise capped out by the respective percentage for the grade difference (10% max) which often results in being paid less than the median of what the new role is worth.

What's the interview process like at CDK Global?

Slow. There tends to be several weeks between each interview. I had assumed I had not gotten the job because there was almost a month between my last interview and being offered the job. Not sure if it is just a hiring manager being slow or if there is internal workings that making the process extremely slow. For my interview process: 1. Had a phone interview with the recruiter and told her about my experience and skills. 2. Had an in-person interview with the hiring manager that took about an hour and was just going over my skills and experience again. Most of which he had been told by the recruiter. 3. Had another in-person interview with the hiring manager and two of the other employees on the team I would be joining.
Not sure was interviewed when they were ADP.

8 years. Hate and despise it but it pays better than what I could get else where at this point.

17 years. Honestly it was much better before it was CDK. Now it's more of just a job.
