They're hardworking and collaborative. Everyone has each other's back through the lows. There's a lot of respect and safety in all the team interactions.

Being recognized and appreciated for the hard work I put in, and my manager's efforts to reach out regularly and take my feedback on my work.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The way everyone communicates is thoughtful and respectful. I feel safe because there is no misogyny or bigotry in the way anyone speaks here, even while making jokes.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The amount negotiated upon joining is the basic salary and the employee benefits are provided beyond that. So there's no attempt to mask the real compensation by counting the benefits within the basic component.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Everyone in the team makes an effort to reach out and support their teammates. My teammates are quick to step in and help whenever one of us feels stuck or overwhelmed. They go above and beyond the call of duty to develop team bonding.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

There's a disjunct between compensation and hikes for the tech teams vs non-tech teams, to the latter's disadvantage. My team follows this old-school tensure-based promotion system. Even though it is claimed that it is performance-based, no one gets promoted before 2 years, which is a very long time
