Generally I hate every minute of every day that I'm there. Hourly employees aren't paid well, we aren't given paid vacations, our health insurance is out of reach of the average hourly employee and we're treated as just another replaceable piece of trash by management and corporate.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Chili's doesn't pay well so that of course brings in bottom of the barrel employees. Most couldn't get hired anywhere else.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Honestly, there is nothing positive about the culture or environment for hourly employees. We're considered easily-replaceable cogs in the machine and after a while you begin to truly feel like it.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Taking care of hourly employees. We aren't paid well, we have no paid vacations, the health insurance premiums are out of reach of most hourly employees and the anniversary bonus is a cruel joke.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Even though the company does well it never trickles down to the hourly employees. Never. We're perceived as replaceable worker drones and eventually you begin to feel like one. Corporate offers nothing to incentivize long-term employment.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Corporate doesn't believe hourly employees are worthy of paid vacations so they give us a pitiful, pathetic anniversary bonus and every couple of years they raise the health insurance premiums. Sure, managers and corporate staff can afford it but hourly employees are left behind.
