Overall, this was a great move for me. Amazing work experience, and a positive company culture. Compensation isn't bad, though it could be better. I do not like living in Southern California and somewhat resent being moved here. There are some disconnects between ELT and managers.
What makes you most happy at work?
I like working on advanced technology and methods. I get to advance my field.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is amazing; I love working with such a great group of intelligent, hard working, and fun folks.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Generally, the ELT shows extreme competence and are truly some of the best at what they do. I have a lot of confidence in the company to battle economic headwinds.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Despite being in food service, CMG strives to encourage a work/life balance. We also have passion for our product and services which is universal to all departments. I like that I can be myself, for the most part, including being comfortably out as LGBTQ at work.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I know my market value as a consultant and my wage does not measure up to that even accounting for benefits. Also, SoCal is very expensive. I should be paid at least another 30% higher to account for my skills, value I bring to the company, and cost of living.
