Chipotle – Loved it for the first two years. Was pushed into management and made a GM with little to no training. Brought my concerns to my FL and he told me to be patient, then he quit. My team is poorly trained because I'm poorly trained. I submitted my 2 weeks and can't wait to be done here. | Comparably

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Nothing. Growing online business, higher demands of employees, fewer and reduced benefits and so much more have completely lost my faith in this company.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Work-Life balance! As a manager in this company, you're expected to prioritize Chipotle over all else: school, family, health. It's ridiculous! You're treated like the devil if you need to take any time for yourself.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Chipotle is currently prioritizing business expansion over people. Many other restaurant chains pay a significantly higher wage and have labor allowances that let employees actually manage business. Lower wages combined with higher demands leads to rapid burnout and resentment among employees.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Turnover is insane in this company right now. Turbulence in staffing is leading to terrible training measures with little oversight or corrective action. Lack of training and managerial support leads to employees with little guidance on how to do their jobs. That leads to frustration and turnover

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

My coworkers refuse to cooperate or pull their weight. They do the bare minimum and reject feedback or take is as a personal slight. Employees are so overworked already that they refuse to meet Chipotle's standards and instead do enough just to get through the day. Hospitality is a thing of the past
