  • Usually just with the hiring manager and one or two other departmental staff. Not too many rounds. Phone screened by HR, then interview with hiring manager and small group of potential departmental co-workers.

  • Similar to other non-governmental health plan. Make the hiring unit key player and decision maker. HR working well with business to get good specifications on desired qualities for candidates.

    What is working well is many of the block and tackling functional areas for a health plan. This is very recent but on a great trajectory. What needs more work is our procurement process and finance.

  • Operations has grown pretty significantly in past 2 years. Now clinical side of the company is redeveloping itself to meet the needs of a true managed care company.

  • We need to continue at the departmental level keep line staff engaged and help them understand how what they do day to day impacts the big picture. This gets their buy in as we change things and makes it easier to transform to what we want to be.

  • Very. Need to clear in my vision of where I want to the department to go and be in 4 years, and keep motivated each day to take the steps to get there. Sure there are set backs for things that have dependencies on other departments who it may not be a priority but that is the challenge to keep them engaged.

  • Pace is moderately fast. Not unreasonable but there is a constant need to keep moving forward as there is so much yet to accomplish/build. Have got to want to build something and not just show up to do time. There are places with easier commutes for that.
