Worked here for 23 years and while I know a few people in Quincy, I feel some of my ideas have been taken and used by others with no credit given to me. I stay because I need the health care and a flexible schedule. Stop & Shop doesn't care about us at store level, period. Becoming like A&P everyday
What are some of the best things about your team?
We stick together to get through the day and deal with the stupid nonsense of this company. Sorry, you want feedback, my filter is off.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Struggling to come up with something positive to say. The people in the stores I work in. We do the best we can with what we are given(which is usually lemons). We help each other to fix the constant issues from higher ups that have no clue
What do you like best about the leadership team?
NOTHING. They are disconnected from what is really happening at store level, especially in the NJ stores. Prices are so expensive compared to our competitors its crazy! When Wegmans is cheaper on most things I buy, why should I shop at Stop & Shop? Conditions of stores is awful, just like A&P was!
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I have been with the company for almost 23 years and i make $14.38 an hour. A whole .25 cents more than someone brand new with less responsibilities than I have. How would you feel? I look for a new job all the time, but I stay since my managers are flexible with my schedule and for health benefits
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
PRICES, STORE CONDITIONS. I am a mom and work with many other mom and they ALL ask me when they find out I work for S&S, Why is it so expensive? Why are the stores especially the floors in bad shape? After I feel embarrassed to work here, I tell them that corporate has no clue since they are in MA.
