TJ Maxx – I work with some great people, but management is very negative and have unrealistic expectations of employees.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Pay attention to employees an show appreciation for good work and effort. Stop berating employees needlessly.

What did you like most about the interview process?

It was average, nothing I can remember to add that I actually "liked" about the interview process.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Show appreciation and pay attention to all associates. Stop berating employees and managers from the top down. Have more realistic goals and quotas for credit cards and upselling.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

I love my fellow teammates and coworkers. We all ban together in the horrible atmosphere created by upper management and their need to focus solely on negative things and never show appreciation for good work or effort. My coworkers are some of the hardest working people I know.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

They focus on things like credit card selling and upselling and numbers instead of an associates overall performance. The rules for asking people if they want to get the tJX credit card is overbearing and very uncomfortable. Focus is always on negative things, and no positive enforcement.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I make barely over minimum wage despite having worked there for almost a decade. They use the cost of living wge increase every year and claim that as your "raise" despite the fact you are supposed to get at least a quarter raise a year. Turnover is horrible and employees don't care anymore.
