the environment that ulta strives for and talks about is a mask. working in sales you want open communication, empathy, and understanding. management at ulta has none of those things. my gm was a bully and reported multiple times with no results from corporate.

i didnt like that i didnt know what i would be making until i was hired
What are some of the best things about your team?
i loved meeting all of my colleagues and learning skills and knowledge about skin, hair, and makeup to help make better sales but also have strong connections with each other
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
the company knows people could work at mcdonalds for 17$/hr instead of ulta making 14 at a manager position. they simply dont want to pay fair wages because if they did you would know your wage before being hired and would be allowed to discuss wages with coworkers.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
my gm made me afraid to ask questions. when i did something wrong i would be yelled at. or when i defended myself to her hurtful comments i would be sent home and even my hours cut. i was offered an opportunity for growth but then lied to when i wanted to accept. i was prevented from growing at ulta
