I love my place of work because of my bosses and co-workers and I like the freedom I have there. However I do wish that the pay was better.
What makes you most happy at work?
When I stay busy all day doing hair and not having to walk out on the floor as much.
What did you like most about the interview process?
That they actually want to see your technique in the cosmetology field. They have you do a practical interview after the first initial one.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I like that when someone needs help, there is always someone willing to help and if no one knows the answer or what to do, we all figure out another step. Questions and concerns are always taken care of.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They take the time to get to the root of any issue and try to give out info as soon as possible to all the other staff. They really work with schedule conflicts and give out application an recognition as often as they can and offer continuous education.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
THat we are there to make people look and feel better about themselves and not just in a cosmetic way. If customers/clients are have, for example, a skin issue that involves makeup or skin care, we try to get to the root of the issue and find something that works for them.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel like as a stylist we put in a lot work and aren't paid well. Yes we get commission IF we make our week which rarely happens. I mean, no offense but we do a ton more than someone on the floor and they make way more an hour than us...people with a liscense.
