Often, local leadership to not support company initiatives to improve culture and work atmosphere. Negative feedback is often used against employees that speak up and little changes are made when feedback is given.
Salary remains competitive and possibly better than the competiton. However, rate freezes as well as lack of raises for several positions have made it less desirable. This will ultimately cause (and has caused) bitterness and a feeling of less value among tenured employees.
Most days are filled with delivering bad news to employees: no raises this year, elimination of positions, no bonus payouts even though the company exceeded goals and top executives continue to make bonuses demands on numbers- regardless of external factors, patient safety or stress levels.
Competition oin the market has driven decisions that move the company to a much more numbers driven place. The company has several programs to improve employee engagement, but often regional/area leadership do not support and often act unprofessionally and in and an uncaring manner.
The company has lost sight of employee value. Their current views to stay competitive in the marketplace have caused them to reduce the care for their employees. We are no longer a "best company to work for", we are now "the same as everyone else".
